The Legacy Solution to Modern Roofing Challenges

A time-tested approach to flat roofing, BUR systems integrate multiple layers of protection, ensuring unmatched durability and cost-effectiveness. Addressing modern roofing challenges, BUR acts as a shield against environmental wear and tear.

Built-Up Roofing Systems, commonly known as BUR, have long been a staple in commercial roofing. At its core, BUR is an amalgamation of alternating layers of bitumen and reinforcing fabrics. This multilayered approach results in a robust membrane that serves as the final barrier between the internal premises and the external elements. Typically, BUR employs materials like asphalt, coal tar, or cold-applied adhesive as bitumen. These are either heated for direct application or used in their cold state, depending on the specific adhesive type. A foundational layer, often referred to as the base sheet, is generally used to kickstart the layering process. The end result is a thick, durable roof, with its strength and thickness often denoted by terms like “four plies”, indicating four layers in the membrane.
